Below are examples of some of the declarations we have made on behalf of clients; where these declarations took the form of articles, press releases and brochures (all of which proclaim the excellence of their products and services). Against each example we provide a brief description about how the project came about and Declaration’s responsibilities. Should you wish to search this page for specific words, use Ctrl F in IE7.

These are just a few examples though, so if you don’t find what you’re looking for, please contact us.

Aeropeople Brochure PDF

Brochure: Aeropeople (5.2MB)

This project was undertaken for Aeropeople Ltd. Declaration was responsible for establishing the overall marketing messages, including coming up with the tagline “Capabilities through Personnel”. We then devised a structure/format supportive of both a cover-to-cover read and browsing, conducted a series of interviews with key personnel, and produced all required copy.

Restoration of the Vulcan Bomber PDF

Article: Restoration of the Vulcan Bomber (235kB)

Highlighting Marshall Aerospace’s significant role in the restoration of Avro Vulcan XH558, this article was written by Richard Warrilow for Aerospace Professional, a publication of the Royal Aeronautical Society. Specifically, the restoration project’s funding problems were receiving the bulk of media attention, whereas the engineering aspects were not receiving due credit. To this date, few if any articles have told the story of the restoration of XH558 in quite the same light. Phoenix from the Flames PDF

Press Release: Phoenix from the Flames (1MB)

This press release, issued during the run-up to Christmas 2009, tells of Pulse Electronics’ best order-book year to date. Noteworthy in its own right, considering the economic climate at the time, the real story though was how the entire company was almost destroyed by fire six years previously. The press release, Declaration’s idea, was written and issued by Declaration. We also took the photography and performed the image manipulation to reflect (in the windows of the new building) a photo taken on the night of the fire.

Research into coating technologies PDF

Article: Research into coating technologies (1.1MB)

One of many ghost-written for the Materials & Engineering Research Institute (MERI), which operates out of Sheffield Hallam University (SHU), this article documents research into bio-active coatings that have the potential of warding off corrosion in marine applications. The article, which appeared in Port Strategy magazine, provided a detailed (but not too scientific) explanation of the coating technology and how tests had been conducted at the Thames Barrier.

The Colour of Sound

Cover Story: The Colour of Sound (4MB)

This was a freelance project done for New Electronics magazine. It describes an imaging technology that enables the ‘visualisation of sound’; by overlaying a traditional video or photograph with acoustic data (obtained through a process known as delay and sum beam forming). Whilst we don’t tend to undertake many one-off projects, this cover story does exemplify Declaration’s ability to present leading-edge technology in an easy-to-read format.

Queens Award

Application Assistance: Queens Award (2MB)

In 2006, Smiths Aerospace won two Queen’s Awards for Enterprise. One of these was for the company’s Remote Interface Unit (RIU) technology (award category: Innovation), and Declaration assisted in the writing of the application [forms]. We frequently do this for companies, as we’re able to adopt the same outside-looking-in view the judges have when considering all applications, and this enables us to present a compelling case for why our client should win. There are applications. And there are declarations.

Global Power Review

In-depth Report: Philippines (122kB)

This project came about following the submission of an article (ghost-written for a client) for Power Engineering International (PEI). Impressed by Declaration’s writing style, the editor of the magazine asked us to write an in-depth report (on the Philippines and its power usage and generation capabilities) for the annual Global Power Review, on which companies make important commercial decisions. Declaration is also frequently commissioned for in-depth (not-for-print) market research/analysis reports.

East Midlands Development Agency

Brochure: East Midlands Development Agency (377kB)

This is another prime example of Declaration providing an outside-looking-in view. The East Midlands Development Agency (one of the UK Government’s Regional Development Agencies) needed a brochure to take to the 2009 Paris Airshow. The brochure’s aim: to highlight to companies in the aerospace sector the benefits of establishing a presence in not only the UK, but in particular the East Midlands. Declaration established the key messages, structured a flatplan and then undertook all copywriting.
